One Palestinian killed, 23 wounded, Israel's failure to assassinate Intifada leader

One Palestinian was killed on Thursday and an israeli attempt failed to assassinate one of the leaders of the Fatah movement when his car was hit by two Israeli missiles fired by an Apachi plane in Nablus, at a time when the Israeli forces intensified its aggressions and attacks against the Palestinian residential areas in the West Bank and Gaza. This resulted in wounding 23 Palestinians and destroying several houses.

These Israeli forces incurred by tanks and armored vehicles a distance of 1200 meters in the Palestinian territories at Deir al-Balah where violent confrontations took place between the Palestinian citizen and the invading forces lasted for 40 minutes in which 8 Palestinians were wounded before the Israeli forces were obliged to withdraw towards Kafer Daroum settlement. The Israeli bombardment inflicted heavy damages in four Palestinian houses.

The director of al-Aqsa martyrs hospital in Deir al-Balah said that 8 Palestinians were admitted to the hospital including 6 policemen and two civilians, two of them are in critical health conditions.

In a similar incursion operation, two Palestinian policemen were wounded when the Israeli tanks bombarded a headquarters for the Palestinian security sources in al-Breij camp in Rafah, Gaza and destroyed it.

Meantime, the Israeli mini cabinet adopted a decision, chaired by the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon, stated to liquidate the activists of the Palestinian Intifada.

The secretary general of the Fatah movement in the West Bank Marwan al-Barghouthi stressed that the Intifada will continue and also the resistance operation until the Palestinian territories will be liberated from the Israeli occupation.

In retaliation to the Israeli aggressions, the Palestinian Intifada youths were able to hit one Israeli army officer and three soldiers near Toulkarem city.

Meanwhile, one Palestinian youth was killed by the bullets of the Israeli soldiers on Thursday and ten were wounded following demonstration in Khan Younis camp for refugees in Gaza.

Palestinian medical sources said that Muhammad Jaber Zarab (13 year old) after he was hit in his heart by an Israeli bullet during confrontation erupted between Palestinian demonstrators in the " Austrian quarters" in the camp and Israeli soldiers stationed near the camp.

Jihad al-Meisami, who is a remarkable figure at the Palestinian Fatah movement escaped an assassinating attempt when an Israeli helicopter opened fire at the car carrying him near Nablus in the West Bank and this resulted in wounding him together with other two.

Palestinian sources said that al-Meisami (36 year old) is the deputy commander of the Palestinian police in Nablus and he is from the Palestinian Balatah camp.

On Thursday, thousands of Palestinians held a funeral for Bilal al-Ghoul one of the activists of the Palestinian national resistance movement ( Hamas), and Mahmoud Jaser, one member of the Palestinian police who were killed by the Israeli missiles and bullet in Rafah to the south of Gaza.
