Illegal immigration: Spain's Charge d'Affaires received by Moroccan official
Morocco-Spain, Politics, 8/23/2001

Spanish Charge d'Affaires in Morocco, Eduardo Ibanes Lopez-Doriga, was received on Wednesday afternoon by Moroccan secretary of state for foreign affairs and cooperation, Taieb Fassi Fihri.

The Moroccan official conveyed to the Spanish diplomat Morocco's stance on Spanish attitude in the issue of illegal immigration.

Wednesday morning, Morocco's charge d'Affaires in Spain, Abdelkader Moslih, was received at the Spanish foreign department.

A spokesman of the Moroccan foreign affairs and cooperation department denied news reports over contacts between Moroccan and Spanish foreign ministers, Mohamed Benaissa and Josep Pique.

The spokesman also explained that Morocco's ambassador to Spain was not received at the Spanish foreign department as he was on holidays in Morocco. It was the charge d'Affaires who was received at the Spanish foreign department, the spokesman said.
