Athletics: El-Guerrouj, Bidouane in Brussels Meet
Morocco, Sports, 8/23/2001
Morocco's athletics stars, Hicham El-Guerrouj, 1,500 m world record holder and champ, and Nezha Bidouane, 400 m hurdles world champ, participate Friday in the Memorial Van Dam meeting of Brussels.
Other Moroccan athletes will show up in the Brussels meet, 6th phase of the athletics Golden League, namely Brahim Boulami, who scored last week the best world performance of the year on 3000 steeple, Ali Ezzine, winner of silver in the Edmonton world athletics championships in 3000 steeple, Khalid Tighziouine in the 800 m race, Asmae Laghzaoui in the 3000 m race (women), Abdelkader Hachlaf in 1500 and Abderrahim Goumari in 10,000 m.
The three-time world champion of the 1,500 m, Hicham El Guerrouj, is competing for the Golden League.
