Arab FM s voice support for the Intifada, convening the boycott office conference, halting political contacts with Israel

The Arab foreign ministers on Wednesday concluded their emergency meeting by stressing the need of supporting the Palestinian people and their uprising by all means being a national legitimate resistance against the Israeli occupation and rejection to describe this Intifada as " violence or terrorism."

The Arab FMs also stressed the importance of the participation of all member states at the regional conference of the liaison officers in the meeting to be held in Damascus on October 7-11 to work for revitalizing the Arab boycott of Israel. They also called on all world countries to boycott the products of the Israeli settlements in the occupied Arab territories.

The ministers also decided not to make any contacts with Israel as far as it continued its aggressions against the Palestinian people and their territories and also on the Syrian and Lebanese territories. They decided to study drawing a mechanism to try the Israeli criminals of war at international courts and to assign the general secretariat of the Arab league to follow up this issue and allocate sums for this purpose.

The Arab foreign ministers also decided to work by all means in order to preserve the situation of Jerusalem and considering the Israeli measures aiming at changing its condition as null and illegal as well as to stress at international circles and forums on the need to restore back the Arab rights in Jerusalem, the occupied Palestinian territories, the Golan and South Lebanon in implementation of UN resolution and commitment to the right of the Palestinian refugees to return back according to UN resolution 194.

The Arab foreign ministers also decided to call on the US to halt providing Israel by arms and to assign the AL general secretariat to study the issue of filing an official complaint to the US sides concerned in line with the laws that restrict selling the American weapons and using these weapons against a third party.

As for the international conference against racism which will be held in Durban in South Africa by the beginning of September the ministers decided: working to provide this conference a success on the ground of its importance in fighting all racist practices in all its forms and against all races; Condemning racism is part of condemning the current Israeli practices against the Palestinians; Considering all Israeli practices against the Palestinians as racist and anti- human practices and a grave violations to the norms of the International humanitarian law; and responding to the call advocated by the secretary general of the Arab League to convene a coordination meeting of the Arab foreign ministers on the sideline of the Durban conference.
