Military cooperation between Saudi Arabia, Pakistan

Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have started the first joint project for manufacturing light weapon industries and military equipment. This was following direct negotiations between Pakistani and Saudi military officials in both Islam Abaad and al-Riyadh.

The Saudi daily al-Watan said in its Tuesday's issued, quoting Saudi defense sources visiting Islam Abaad that the project will be allocated in its first stages for light weapons industries like automatic machine- guns and guns produced by Pakistan, besides other appropriate ammunition.

It is decided that a special factory will be established concerning the joint Saudi- Pakistani project in al- Kharaj area to the south of al-Riyadh.

Worthy mentioning that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are linked to solid economic, political and military relations and that the two countries naval forces held naval maneuvers in January this year in the regional and international seas facing Pakistan's coats in the Arab sea. These exercises were called " the breathe of sea 6."
