Syria-Palestine, Politics, 8/22/2001

News reports quoted the chairman of the Palestinian National Salvation Front Khaled al-Fahoum, which takes Damascus as a headquarters said on Tuesday that a Palestinian delegation led by the minister of international co-operation Nabil Shaath is expected to visit Damascus tomorrow in preparation for the visit of the chairman of the Palestinian authority Yasser Arafat.

Al-Fahoum said that Shaath will visit Damascus for two days in order to agree with the Syrian officials on the date of Arafat's visit, and its program. He explained that the visit includes four issues which are clinging to UN security council resolutions 242 and 338; the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as a capital, the right of the refugees to return back according to UN resolution 194 and the Syrian- Palestinian joint co-ordination and consultation.
