High Dam protects Egypt against floods

Egyptian Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Mahmoud Abu Zeid said that Egypt is totally secure from the flood risks thanks to the High Dam.
Egypt has offered technical assistance to encounter the flood hazards in Khartoum, said Abu Zeid, adding Sudanese Irrigation Minister Kamal Ali affirmed that things are under control.
"Lake Nasser and Toshka spillway are capable of absorbing any excess water," said Abu Zeid.
On the other hand, Abu Zeid attended Monday celebrations of the Egyptian Society of Engineers on the Day of the Nile Inundation.
Abu Zeid received an honouring shield for his role to spread awareness of the importance of the River Nile.
