Egypt's new ambassador to Morocco stresses will to develop solid relations
Egypt-Morocco, Politics, 8/21/2001

Egypt's new ambassador to Morocco, Ashraf Zaaza, who has just been approved by Moroccan authorities, said he will be tirelessly working to develop relations between Morocco and Egypt and deepen cooperation in various fields.

The new diplomat, who replaces Ahmed Amine Fathallah, told MAP office in Cairo he was very happy and proud to represent his country in Morocco "a brotherly country linked to Egypt by excellent brotherhood ties." The diplomat, who is expected to start office by mid-September said the upcoming session of the high joint commission, slated for next fall, will give "a new impetus" to bilateral cooperation.

Co-chaired by King Mohammed VI and Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, the commission meets alternately in Rabat and Cairo. Its latest session was held in May 2000 in Cairo.
