WTO for the Gulf states meets in al-Riyadh

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states hold its second meeting in al-Riyadh, the headquarters of the GCC's general secretariat on September 2nd.

The GCC's assistant secretary general for economic affairs Ajlan al-Kawari said the meeting will discuss the GCC stances towards issues to be discussed at the World Trade Organization's fourth ministerial conference due to be held in Qatar in November and to submit recommendations concerning them to the next meeting of the trade cooperation committee.

The committee's meeting which lasts for two days will be held at the level of UN organizations directors at the ministries of commerce in the GCC six member states. The meeting will consider informing the organization the decision of the GCC member states in implementing the GCC customs federation in the year 2005.
