Health cooperation between Syria, Sudan

The Syrian minister of health Muhammad Eyad al-Shatti on Sunday in Damascus discussed with his Sudanese counterpart Ahmad Bilal Othman in their meeting, which was attended by the deputy health minister Kawkab al-Dayeh and the Sudanese ambassador in Damascus fields of existing cooperation between the two ministries and means of revitalizing the executive program of the cooperation agreement signed in the field of health between the two countries.
During the meeting, al-Shatti gave an explanation about the activities of the ministry of health and its strategies in the coming phase and its projects in equipping modernized hospitals and the ministry's plan in disease- preventive measures.
The minister also talked about the situation of national pharmaceutical industries in Syria and the great progress attained in this sector during recent years as number of medicine factories which awarded the International Quality Control Certificate ISO reached 21 factories. The Syrian minister also indicated that the Syrian medicine exporting market also expanded and number of foreign and Arab countries importing medicines from Syria reached 21.
