Toshka spillway is ready

Mahmoud Abu Zaid, Egyptian Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation is getting daily reports on the volume of floods along the River Nile. The minister said plans have been mapped out for confronting any potential increase in the level of the flood. The minister said Toshka spillway is ready for receiving any excess quantities of water. He said Egypt will face no risks whether the flood will be high or low.
Meantime, eng. Hussein Elwan, the Undersecretary of Irrigation said water bottlenecks cold be repeated in the upcoming seasons if farmers did not abide by the ceiling for areas to be cultivated with cotton and rice. He said coordination is maintained with the Ministry of Agriculture to avoid these bottlenecks in the upcoming seasons as Egypt's share of water is limited and should be used properly.
