Egypt participates in the SC emergency session
Egypt-Palestine, Politics, 8/18/2001

Egypt's permanent delegate to the United Nations Ahmed Abul Gheit will leave Cairo on Sunday heading to New York to participate in the Security Council emergency session due on Monday.

The session is held on to the Arab and Islamic group request to probe the Israeli violations in the Palestinian lands and the occupation of Orient House besides a number of establishments and organizations in Jerusalem.

Meanwhile, Al-Gomhuria learnt that consultations are underway between Arab and Islamic parties on one hand and US and Security Council members on the other hand to reach a unified formula to avoid the use of US veto.

The consultations aims as well at uncovering Israeli practices against the Palestinian people and providing international protection to the Palestinian people in occupied lands.
