Sharon threatened to escalate the aggressions if the Intifada will not be halted. His threats were expressed during a tour he made on certain settlements in the West Bank in which he was accompanied by the Israeli army chief of staff Shaoul Mofaz.

In Paris, the French weekly " L' Express " described Sharon's policy as blind and only left for the Palestinian hatred and repression.
