Arab foreign ministers to meet next Wednesday

The Arab foreign ministers will hold an emergency meeting in Cairo next Wednesday to discuss the recent Israeli escalation in the occupied territories.
Meantime, the US President on Wednesday repeated his daily call to the chairman of the Palestinian territories Yasser Arafat "to halt violence." His ( US President ) administration expressed objection to debate the Israeli violations at the UN security council, at a request proposed on Tuesday by the Arab group at the UN.
The secretary general of the Arab League (AL) Amr Moussa has announced following a meeting held in Cairo between Arafat and each of the Egyptian foreign minister Ahmad Maher and the Jordanian Abdul Illah al-Khatib that an Arab ministerial meeting will be held very soon. AL sources expected this ministerial meeting to be held on August 22.
