Arab information ministers approve an integrated plan to support the Intifada, withstand Israeli claims

In conclusion of their one day emergency meeting held in Cairo on Wednesday, the Arab ministers of information approved a media strategy in order to invest Arab efforts in confrontation of the Israeli aggressive practices against the Palestinians.

A team of Arab ministers of information was composed for following up work to carry out the media strategy to withstand the Israeli policies and practices.

In a press conference attended by the press controller at the Arab League Hanan Ashrawi, the Lebanese minister of information Ghazi al-Areidi, who is the chairman of the current session of the council of the Arab information ministers stressed that the Arab information ministers approved an integrated media plan which will be tangibly implemented at the Arab and international levels in support of the struggle mounted by the Palestinians and the Arab rights and in unmasking Israeli practices against the Palestinians.

He added that among measures to be taken to this effect is organizing Arab and international media delegation in order to explain the Arab position by all its dimensions, supporting the Arab cause and withstanding the Israeli claims.

Ashrawi described the emergency meeting of the Arab ministers of the information as a qualitative turning point in the Arab media in support of the cause of Palestine and in facing the Israeli distorting campaign.

Earlier in the day, the Arab ministers of information started an emergency meeting at the headquarters of the Arab league. It was attended by the Al secretary general Amre Mousa and the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yaaser Arafat.
