Egypt, Culture, 8/16/2001

Egypt's First Lady Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak will meet with youth participating in the first camp held in Port Said that aims at preparing cadres of youth to play their role in raising awareness on smoking and drugs hazards.

Moreover, Mrs. Mubarak will have a dialogue with youth on these problems and the experience they acquired to face them.

Furthermore, the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood held a workshop in which 60 students in the preparatory and secondary schools took part.

The workshop was under the Council's Secretary-General Moshira khatab with the participation of psychology professors and experts.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Mubarak will head the Egyptian delegation to the special round for children in the UN to be held next September. She will present a draft to the participants urging them to improve the social, economic, educational and medical conditions of children of the world.

Mrs. Mubarak will also call for making the basic rights of children compulsory to guarantee their implementation. By doing so, children will have due care and grow in a healthy environment.
