Ebeid, Han Seung discuss boosting trade exchange, investment in Gulf of Suez
Egypt-South Korea, Economics, 8/16/2001

Egyptian Prime Minister Atef Ebeid yesterday discussed with South Korean Foreign Minister Han Seung Soo expanding the Egyptian-South Korean trade exchange.

Soo said that the meeting dealt with promoting Egyptian-South Korean economic relations and the projects in which the South Korean side can contribute to.

He added that South Korea will study upping investments in Egypt.

Soo lauded the Egyptian government's role in implementing economic reform programmes and encouraging foreign investments.

Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher, who attended the meeting, said the two sides discussed benefiting from South Korea's expertise in the industrial production.

He added that Ebeid proposed to the Korean side taking part in some investment projects, especially in the industrial zone in the Gulf of Suez.
