Japanese fish e-marketing holding opens office in Agadir

A Japanese holding operating in E-marketing of fish, "Fish Information and Services" (FIS), has just opened a, office in the Moroccan southern Atlantic city of Agadir, reports Moroccan daily L'Economiste.

The office, which projects to set up an internet site in Arabic, will collect information on the fishery sector in Morocco and ease Moroccan exporters' access to the Japanese market, where the potential is worth 2 billion DH for Moroccan exporters, the daily said quoting the FIS delegate in Las Palmas, canary Islands.

The Agadir office, to create in a first stage 6 jobs (coordinators and quality control officers), will later on extend its field of action to Africa and the Middle East to become the central headquarters for this region.

The New York-based FIS holding's site (www.fis.com) supplies daily information on the fishery sector and includes a free zone for the sale and purchase of fish, with offices in 14 countries. Some 10,000 fishery professionals visit the site every day.
