Jordan holds the West responsible for the deterioration of conditions in the region

Jordan has warned against the danger of the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and of being extended to the countries of the region, stressing that there is no alternative for the peace process terms of reference which are the land for peace.

During his meeting on Tuesday with the chairman of the budget's committee at the Japanese parliament Yushinari Nurtha, currently visiting Jordan, the Jordanian prime minister Ali Abi al-Ragheb held the US and countries of the G- 8 the responsibility of the situation in the region because they abstain from pressuring Israel to halt its aggression and end its occupation and closure of the Palestinian territories.

Abu al-Ragheb renewed his country's demands to send UN observers to the Palestinian territories, stressing that the problem lies in the Israeli policies which lack the concept of peace. He explained that what is taking place in the Palestinian territories has a direct impact on Jordan from all aspects.

He stressed that the ME region is in a great bottleneck because of Israel's violation of the peace process principles and its violation of the agreements it had signed with the Palestinians.

On the other hand, the Jordanian prime minister stressed the need of lifting the sanctions imposed on Iraq and the need of guaranteeing the restoration of its role in the international community. He said that Iraq has a great role in building the economic of the countries of the region and establishing peace on them.

For his part, the Japanese official expressed his country's concern over the continued tensions in the occupied territories and called for returning back to negotiations. He stressed his country's position in backing revision of the sanctions imposed on Iraq.
