Egypt for backing Syrian position
Egypt-Syria, Politics, 8/15/2001

The Egyptian foreign minister Ahmad Maher has stressed Egypt's full support to Syria in its legitimate struggle in order to restore back the whole of the Golan until June 4, 1967 border lines, noting the importance of continued cooperation and consultation between Syria and Egypt in the service of the supreme Arab causes.

In a meeting he held on Monday evening with students of the Egyptian universities, Maher condemned the Israeli aggressive practices against the unarmed Palestinians, stressing that these practices will not achieve security and stability for the Israeli people.

The Egyptian foreign minister stressed his country's full support to the Palestinian people in their legitimate struggle in order to get their legitimate rights, especially their rights to establish their own independent state with Jerusalem as a capital and support for Lebanon to restoring back their occupied lands.
