US planes held sorties in Iraqi airspace

An Iraqi military spokesman announced that several " enemy" formations which came from the Turkish airspace supported by AWACS planes on Monday held 10 armed sorties over areas in Dahouk and Ninoa provinces in the north of Iraq and then left back for their bases in Turkey.
The spokesman stressed that the number of the air stories carried out by American and British planes over the northern and southern parts of Iraq reached 34,290 since the beginning of the "Desert Fox" US and British operations in December 1998.
