ISESCO calls for end to Israeli aggressions against Palestinian people
Palestine-Regional, Politics, 8/14/2001
The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO/based in Rabat) has called the international community to interfere urgently to end the Israeli aggressions against the Palestinian people.
In a statement released Friday, the Organization calls member countries to adopt a firm and immediate stance to face these aggressions and urges all peace-loving countries, those militating for the defense of human rights, international organizations and associations of the civil society to openly denounce these aggressions and the racist and criminal policy enforced by Israel against a People who is only claiming its legitimate right to live in dignity within an independent state with Al-Quds as its capital.
The ISESCO statement also calls the UN security council to implement, without hesitation and favoritism, resolutions adopted against Israel in the same way it is implementing those adopted against other countries, and avoid thus falling in the double-standard trap and protect its international stature and credibility.
For ISESCO, Israel is confirming through its criminal actions and racist attitude its defiance of international law and the danger it constitutes for peace and security in the world. If the world does not denounce this policy and these aggressions, the middle east area will be seriously threatened, says the Organization which also renews its support to the Palestinian national authority, and particularly to its educational, scientific and cultural bodies and "pays homage to the Palestinian people struggle and martyrdom in confronting the Israeli colonization and its military savagery."
