Al-Assad attends a tactical project for one of the Syrian fighting formations
Syria-Lebanon, Politics, 8/14/2001

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has stressed Syria's total support to the Lebanese President " Emil lahoud, to the commander of the Lebanese army and to Lebanon's government, people and resistance."

This was expressed in a speech al-Assad made after he attended a tactical project for the army attended by high ranking Lebanese army officers.

In the course of his talks about the political conditions in the region, President al-Assad stressed Syria's total support for Lebanon.

At the end of this tactical project which was carried out by various units of the Syrian army using air and land weapons, the president stressed the need for "relentless work to be prepared for withstanding hostile challenges and strengthening the will of steadfastness to foil enemy aggressive projects."
