Syrian- Iraqi joint higher committee meetings conclude, trade, industry, health and transport agreements

The Syrian prime minister Muhammad Mustafa miro and members of the accompanying delegation arrived back on Monday from Baghdad following an official visit to Iraq that lasted for three days, during which he presided over the meetings of the Syrian- Iraqi joint higher committee.

At the airport he was seen off by the Iraqi vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan. He was also seen off by the two deputies of the prime minister Tareq Aziz and Hekmat Azzawi, several cabinet ministers and high ranking officials concerned.

Miro and Taha Yassin Ramadan signed the joint minutes of meetings of the meetings of the Syrian- Iraqi joint higher committee.

The minutes of meetings of following up the implementation of resolutions of the joint Syrian- Iraqi committee were also signed by the Syrian minister of the economy and foreign trade Muhammad al-Imadi and the Iraqi trade minister Muhammad Mahdi Saleh.

Also signed was an agreement provides for the establishment of the joint Syrian- Iraqi joint higher committee and an agreement on economic, trade, scientific, technical and cultural economic cooperation.

Moreover, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the two countries foreign ministries by the Syrian minister of state for foreign affairs Nasser Qaddour and the Iraqi foreign minister Naji Sabri.

A health and pharmaceutical industry agreement was also signed by the Syrian minister of health Muhammad Eyad al-Shatti and the Iraqi health minister Omeed Medhat.

The executive program of the transport and communications sector and an agreement on the basic system of the sea transport as well as an agreement for a land transport company establishment were signed by the Syrian transport minister Makram Obeid and the Iraqi minister of transport and telecommunications Ahmad Murtada.

A joint minutes of meetings between the two countries's ministries of industry were signed by the Syrian minister of industry Ahmal al-Hamo and the Iraqi minister of military manufacture Adnan Abdul Miguid. A twinship agreement was signed between the chambers of commerce and industry signed by the Syrian deputy chairman of the federation of the chamber of commerce Saleh al-Mallah and the Iraqi chairman of the federation of the chambers of commerce Zuheir Abdul Ghafour.

Moreover, the joint minutes of meetings reviewed fields of cooperation between the two countries in all walks of life.
