Al-Assad's visit to Kuwait

The Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Am said on Monday that the visit of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to Kuwait will last for 24 hours and starts on August 18.

The paper added that President al-Assad will arrive at 5 p.m. Saturday and will meet in the same day with the Kuwaiti crown prince and prime minister Saad al-Abdullah and the first deputy for the prime minister and the foreign minister Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad at his residence at Bayan Palace and then will meet a dinner banquet at the invitation of the ruler of Kuwait Sheikh Jaber.

The paper continued that in the second day of the visit, President al-Assad who will be accompanied by the foreign minister Farouk al-Shara and the minister of the economy and foreign trade Muhammad al-Imadi, will hold talks with the Kuwaiti side and then will have lunch at the banquet of Sheikh Saad. Then President al-Assad will be meeting with members of the Syrian community in Kuwait and the Arab ambassadors accredited in Kuwait and will leave Kuwait back home at 5.pm. Sunday, just 24 hours from his arrival.
