Continued arrests of Palestinians

Palestinian sources reported that the security forces of the Israeli army are still in a state of alert because of continued warnings on possible new operations by the Palestinian Intifada teenagers.
The Israeli radio on Sunday quoted these sources as asserting news that the security forces of the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank arrested the Palestinian Hussein Omar Abu Na'esah, from Jenin under the charge of planning to carry out " a suicide operation," and also arrested Abdullah al-Barghouthi from " Beit Reima " village also under the charge in taking part in planning a suicide attack, carried out by Abdul Aziz Sheuheil al- Masri in Jerusalem last Thursday and resulted in killing 19 Israelis and wounding of other 120.
These sources said that the security forces of the Palestinian authorities have so far arrested 6 Palestinians, but it accused the PA that these arrests are futile and were made at strong pressures on the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat.
The sources also accused Arafat that he still gives the Palestinians the green light to carry out operations against the Israelis.
The Israeli daily Haartez issues on Sunday quoted Palestinian sources as saying that Arafat by the end of last week quitted the commander of Ramullah police because he did not prevent the joy expressed by the people in the city after the "suicide operation" in Jerusalem.
According to the Palestinian sources, commander of the criminal investigation unity in Gaza Abu Salah has replaced Kamal al- Sheikh because several members of the Palestinian police took part in the joyful events in the city.
