Al-Shara confers with US senator

The Syrian foreign minister Farouk al-Shara on Thursday in Damascus met with member of the US Senate Gary Ackerman, a US senator for New York and the chairman of the Middle East center for economic cooperation and peace.
The meeting was attended by the director of the US department at the foreign ministry Hamzeh Hamzeh and the US charge de affairs in Damascus Ravid Perce.
SANA reported that "Discussions dealt with developments of conditions in the region and the policy of terrorism conducted by Israel against the Palestinians."
Al-Shara stressed that the need that the US should shoulder their international responsibilities in putting an end to the stubborn Israeli policy and to play a neutral and honest role towards the various issues of the region.
