The settlement process recedes in Israel because of the Intifada

The Israeli ministry of the Interior has stressed that the rate of Jews who come to settle in the settlements of the West Bank has receded because of the Palestinian Intifada.
A report by the ministry said that the rate of the increase receded from 7% by the end of 1999 to 2% by the end of the year 2000. The report added that 5,000 Jews moved to settle in the settlements of the West Bank and Gaza until the end of 2000 while 1999 witnessed that some 18,000 Jews who moved to live in these settlement.
The report stressed that the eruption of the Palestinian Intifada led to the cessation of the Jews who want to settle in the settlement of the West Bank.
