Morocco, Economics, 8/9/2001
Morocco has launched a tender for the purchase of 80,000 tons of soft wheat. The first arrivals are expected in September and the second batch would arrive by October.
In the 2000-2001 agricultural campaign, Morocco's imports of soft wheat reached 247,000 tons up to last July 31, including 175,000 which have already reached the ports.
France is Morocco's largest supplier of soft wheat, accounting for 55% of the delivered quantities, ahead of Sweden (30%) and Germany (13%).
