Tunisia holds solidarity day with Palestinian women

A solidarity day with women in Palestine will be organized on August 13 on the sidelines of women national day in Tunisia.
Tunisian minister of women and family, Naziha Zarrouk, who made the announcement was quoted by Tunisian news agency TAP as saying that Tunisian women-made products will be sold and proceeds returns will be donated to Palestinian women.
The Tunisian woman national day also features an exhibition of documents on the improvement of women conditions and a roving caravan will tour the country to extend health services to women.
Colloquies on women's rights and the role of micro-credits extended to rural women are also on the schedule, Ms Zarrouk said.
The Tunisian women's day is celebrated in commemoration of the personal statute code, promulgated on August 13, 1957, on the morrow of the Maghreban country independence, for the emancipation of women in Tunisia.
