Sudanese government renews commitment to Libyan- Egyptian joint initiative

The Sudanese government has renewed its commitment to the Egyptian- Libyan initiative in order to establish reconciliation in Sudan. The Sudanese government also stressed that it has completed preparations for the coming measures and welcomed the convening of the Afro- Arab summit in Tripoli by the beginning of September to discuss means of establishing reconciliation in Sudan.

In a meeting it held under the chairmanship of the Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir, the Sudanese government considered that the convening of the Afro-Arab summit concerning Sudan is considered an important step towards giving an impetus to the Egyptian- Libyan initiative in order to reach the optimum peace.

The advisor of the Sudanese President for peace affairs Ghazi Salah Eddine said that contacts still continue with the political forces inside Sudan to crystallize the common vision to support the march of dialogue through the Egyptian- Libyan initiative.

Mustafa Othman Ismael said that the Sudanese government completed its readiness to take part in Tripoli summit.
