Floods in Sudan

Floods waters have besieged 25 villages on Atbara river in the Sudanese province of Nahir al-Nil ( the Nile River) and cut contacts with them, in addition to other five villages which were isolated by the waters two days earlier from the cities and villages and caused great damages in them.
The Sudanese minister of the Interior Lt. Gen. Abdul Rahim Muhammad Hussein held a tour in a plane over the damaged villages in which the floods caused the collapse of 100 houses, stores and one mosque. He gave his directives to provide urgent aids to these villages.
Meantime, the Sudanese ministry of the irrigation continued to make calls to take measures to withstand the continued increase in water rates especially the Atbara river and the " Blue Nile, noting that the flood of the Atbara river is the highest since 1988.
