Ebeid meets 6th October City investors

The Egyptian Prime Minister Atef Ebeid held a meeting yesterday with the Chairman and the members of 6th of October Investors Association to review the new projects to be carried out in 6th of October City and how to promote investments, production, marketing and exports.
Proposals aimed at boosting Egyptian exports to US $ 10 billion over the next three years were also reviewed, the Board Chairman of the Society Saleh Gheith said following the meeting, which tackled certain industrial issues as well.
The members of the Association suggested that representatives from the ministry of economy, the Central Bank and other banks and investors' associations form a committee to deal with the problems investors have been experiencing with the banks.
The meeting also discussed the exchange market and the effect of governmental decisions relating to the market, which have been welcomed by investors.
"The meeting reviewed problems facing 138 staggering companies in the 6th of October City, with a view to rescuing them," Gheith said, adding that 241 new factories are to open in the near future.
According to Gheith, the PM is expected to visit the city soon.
