Egyptian- Libyan consultations over Sudan

The Egyptian foreign minister Ahmad Maher has received a message from the secretary of the Libyan people's committee for African unity Abdul Salaam al-Tureiki dealt with the developments concerning the move towards the Egyptian- Libyan initiative concerning the question of Sudan and the special proposal to submit a joint memorandum to the Arab league and to establishing a fund for rebuilding Southern Sudan.

Maher met with Libya's representative at the Arab league Abdul Menem al-Houni who handed Maher the message. Following the meeting al-Houni said replying to a question on the meeting of the Egyptian- Libyan committee during two weeks, that he has no information at the meantime on this matter.

As for preparations to convene a joint Egyptian, Libyan, Sudanese summit, al-Houni added there are preparations and exchanged messages and there are talks to adding Kenya to this summit.
