Israel tranports remains of 300 Lebanese into a new cemetry inside Palestine
Lebanon-Israel, Politics, 8/6/2001

In the course of the Israeli fears that members of the Lebanese national resistance will be able to restore back the remains of 300 Lebanese resistance men who were killed in South Lebanon, the Israeli army started to transport the bodies of those " martyrs" into a new cemetery inside Israel.

An Israeli military source said the bodies which were identified and that are in two cemeteries near to Kreyat Shemona will be put in funerals and then buried in a new cemetery in a place further down in Israel far from the old cemetery.

Meantime, the people of the liberated town of al-Abaseyah on the border between Lebanon and Israel were able to return back to their town on Saturday after the UN forces stationed in their town ( UNIFIL) evacuated a position at the entrance of the town which was the only impediment before the return of the citizens following the expulsion of the Israeli forces from the town.

The Indian contingent working within UNIFIL has recently evacuated its position it had established at the gate of the liberated town of al-Abaseyah since May 2000 and then, re-stationed on the line drawn by the UN between Lebanon and Israel in the liberated side of the town.

The Lebanese citizens who entered the town on Sunday, escorted by the Lebanese security forces, called for dismantling the Israeli land mines left by the occupation forces in the town so as to be able to run their properties which had been deprived of having access for long years.
