2nd Morocco-Japan-Africa fishing industries training cooperation project signed

Morocco and Japan signed in Rabat on Friday documents to start the 2nd Morocco-Japan-Africa tripartite technical cooperation program in fishing industries.
The program, part of recommendations of the 4th ministerial conference on fishery cooperation between African countries bordering the Atlantic Ocean, assigns to the Sea fisheries technological institute of Agadir (Morocco) the task of holding training periods for African executives and technicians operating in sea products processing and development plants.
The five-year program which will benefit over 15 African countries was extended to Algeria and Tunisia. It targets to consolidate African competence and update professionals know-how and skills of fish processing and quality control.
The project is jointly-managed by the Moroccan sea fisheries ministry and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
