Japan's deputy foreign minister in Damascus

The firs deputy for the Japanese foreign minister will arrive today in Damascus in an official visit to Syria which will last for two days. This is the first visit for a high ranking Japanese official from the new Japanese government which was formed in April this year.
The visiting Japanese official will be meeting with high ranking Syrian officials to discuss with them the situation in the Middle East and latest developments concerning the stumbled ME peace process and bilateral relations between Syria and Japan and means of developing them.
