On Seif's Forum
Syria, Politics, 8/3/2001
In a statement to the Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Am issued on Tuesday, member of the Syrian parliament Riad Seif said that he was not green-lighted by any one for the return back of the national dialogue forum to resume natural activities.
He explained: " Such a green light is our natural right in maintaining self expression." He noted that the first topic to be debated by the forum after resuming its activities by the beginning of next September is to reform the legislative, executive and judicial authorities and to make a distinction and separation among them..
He added that the work of the forum will be changed from lectures into a vaster institution that seeks wider participation to building the homeland through submitting studies " giving solutions to our daily problems."
