Photo exhibition on Arab world environment held in Casablanca
Regional-Morocco, Environment, 8/2/2001

A photo exhibition on environment in the Arab world was dedicated in Casablanca Wednesday.

The two-day exhibition, initiated by Kuwait's embassy in Morocco, is meant to draw attention to the negative effects of pollution and seek solutions to this problem that is affecting the whole world.

The exhibition will be followed by a seminar on environment in the Arab world.

Sources at the Kuwaiti embassy told reporters at a press briefing that Kuwait has been tackling the pollution and environment-related problems for some ten years to cope with the effects entailed by the Gulf war, mainly the diseases and ecology problems caused by the destruction of oil fields.

Kuwait wishes to benefit from Morocco's experience in matters of scientific research related to struggle against pollution and preservation of the environment, the diplomats said.
