Iraq warns Kuwaiti against continued facilities to UA, British planes
Iraq-Kuwait, Politics, 8/2/2001
The Iraqi daily al-Thawra on Wednesday warned the Kuwaiti foreign minister Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah against continued providing facilities for the American and British planes which monitor the " No fly zone area " in south Iraq.
The paper explained that Iraq owns radars, air observatories and intelligence systems on the ground which all provide it with detailed information on the bases of the planes, their number and types even the names of the pilots and their military grades. The paper added that all these systems follow up the planes since its launching from Kuwait and continue to follow up these planes inside the Iraqi airspace until their return back to their bases.
