Jordanian King to visit Russia

Official sources in Amman said on Sunday that the Jordanian king Abdullah II will pay a visit to Russia on August 27 for two days. This is the King's First visit to Russia after his investiture in February 1999.
The visit which came at the invitation of the Russian president Vladmire Putin will concentrate on " the grave escalation in the Palestinian territories and means of boosting bilateral relations."
Worthy mentioning that the Russian foreign minister Igore Ivanov visited Jordan in November 2000 and the Russian envoy to the Middle East held several visits to the Kingdom.
Putin had described Jordanian- Russian relations in February 2000, when he was an acting President as " good and friendly and established by King Hussein," father of the current monarch who died after fought against cancer in February 1999.
