Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak holds talks Friday with German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer, charge d'affaires of the German chancellery as chancellor Gerhard Schroeder is on his annual vacation. The talks, to be held in Baden-Baden, will deal with the situation in the Middle East in light of the recommendations of the G-8 industrialized states to form an international observers team to apply the Mitchell recommendations between the Palestinians and Israel. The Lebanese prime minister Rafik al-Hariri on Friday in Beirut received the Jordanian prime minister Ali Abu al-Ragheb who arrived in Beirut on Thursday. Go

The Egyptian foreign minister Ahmad Maher condemned the Israeli aggressive practices against the unarmed Palestinian people. Practices which further deteriorate conditions in the ME region.
