Cairo to host int'l economic forum
Regional-Germany, Economics, 7/28/2001
Cairo will host an international economic conference on 21 and 22 October. The conference, entitled German-Arab Chamber - 50 Years of Cooperation, will debate the direction of German-Arab trade and investment at the highest business and governmental levels.
It will also discuss promoting business by establishing new partnerships and thoroughly exploring sectors of importance to both Germany and the Arab countries.
The German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce has organized the event on the occasion of its 50th anniversary.
The conference will be an excellent opportunity to evaluate where Germany stands regarding its current investments and to define its future potential, executive director of the German-Arab Chamber, Peter Geopfrich, said yesterday. He added that the event would be a good chance to discuss increasing pan-Arab business cooperation.
Key issues to be addressed include the economic and political situation in the Arab region, new economic development trends, merger projects that are underway and the special investment opportunities available for German industry.
The conference will bring together the Egyptian, German and Arab ministers and economic decision-makers.
