Egyptian foreign affairs council discusses Mideast peace in US

A delegation from the Egyptian foreign affairs council under ambassador Mohammed Ibrahim shaker will pay a five-day visit to the US on October 22.
Shaker said the visit aims at establishing friendly relations with the council's counterpart institutions, congressmen, politicians, intellectuals in the U.S. as well as discussing a number of important issues on top of which are the latest developments in the Mideast region and explaining the Egyptian viewpoints as regards means of pushing forward the peace process.
He pointed out that the visit would also help create nongovernmental contact channels to assist decision-makers get acquainted with burning issues and bring viewpoints closer.
Egyptian expert takes part in conference on nuclear disarmament Ambassador Mohammad Ibrahim Shaker, head of the Egyptian council for foreign affairs, who is an expert in the field of nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament, will visit the United States in August.
Shaker said that he would take part during his visit to the united states in a symposium on teaching nuclear nonproliferation and disarmament in various stages of education in schools world-wide.
In statement on Friday, shaker said that his participation in the symposium which is organised by the United Nations at a political institute in California comes within the framework of assigning him as expert in nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament affairs by United Nations secretary-general Kofi Annan among ten world experts.
