Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Tuesday evening received a telephone call from the Jordanian King Abdullah II. During their talks the two leaders discussed conditions in the region and their development.
Morocco's King Mohammed VI received on Tuesday afternoon at the royal palace in the northern city of Tetuan Yves de Chaisemartin, chief executive officer of Le Figaro (French media group) and SOCPRESSE company which publishes some 80 dailies, weeklies and magazines in France and in the world.
"Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's talks with Italian President Carlo Ciampi and Premier Silvio Berlusconi centered on efforts exerted to rescue the peace march in the Middle East and halt the deteriorating conditions in the region," said Egyptian Information Minister Safwat El Sherif. "The two sides also exchanged views on ways to activate resolutions adopted by the G-8 leaders during their summit held recently in Genoa, Italy," El Sherif said.
