WB Deputy Chairman discuss boosting Egyptian private sector

The World Bank (WB) Deputy Chairman for developing Private Sector Neamat Shafik visiting Egypt on 24-31 July to have talks with senior governmental officials and key private sector businessmen.

The visit aims at mapping out a common strategy for developing the private sector in Egypt and cementing its role in the fields of production, investment and exportation.

Egypt's management head at the World Bank Mahmoud Aioub said that talks aim at widening the scope of private sector participation in giant infrastructure projects that would be implemented in Egypt during the forthcoming period. He added that such talks would urge the private sector in Egypt to invest in new spheres such as health and education.

He made it clear that talks would focus on means of improving investment climate, increasing productivity of the private sector and supporting its role in privatization. He expounded that talks also would deal with the World Bank role in realizing such goals.
