Iraq has refuted the accusations of the Saudi representative to the UN
Iraq-Saudi Arabia, Politics, 7/24/2001
"Iraq has refuted the accusations of the Saudi representative to the UN on July 17, 2001 on smugglers attempting to trespass the Saudi borders on June 11, 2001," INA reported today.
In two letters to the U.N Secretary-General and President of the Security Council of which the Iraqi News Agency got two copies, Iraq's representative to the U.N Mohammed al-Douri said "during the last two months, the Saudi authorities sent letters to the U.N Secretary-General and President of the Security Council complaining about alleged violations of their borders and which the American and Zionist media repeated to create a false impression that there is tension in Saudi borders," INA reported.
"Al-Douri pointed out that Facts indicate absolutely contrary to this. Iraq complies with preserving the Iraqi-Saudi borders and principles of good neighbourliness with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In return, the Saudi authorities finance and provide bases for the U.S warplanes which daily launch aggression on civilian targets in Iraq in a clear-cut violation of the U.N Charter and the international law," the INA report added.
