Slow Promotion of Egyptian-Iranian relations

The Egyptian People's Assembly Foreign Relations Committee Deputy Chairman Moustafa El Feqi Saturday said there are certain foreign powers that are trying to stunt the growth of Egyptian-Iranian relations.
Addressing the second Egyptian-Iranian seminar that began earlier in hurdles hindering the development of their bilateral relations.
Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister Sadek Harazi, on his part, said Egyptian-Iranian relations are moving in the right direction.
He renewed Iran's belief that Israel was the one triggering off tension in the region and that it was trying to stand in the way of promoting Egyptian-Iranian relations.
He underlined the importance of freeing the Middle East region all weapons of mass destruction, especially those possessed by Israel.
The two-day, seminar will discuss many working papers on the effects of globalization on Egyptian-Iranian relations and prospect for promoting the two countries' relations.
The seminar is organized by A1 Ahram's Political and Strategic Studies Center in cooperation with the Iranian Political and International Studies Center.
