Jordanian debt is 4.6 billion Dinars

The Jordanian government has announced that the general foreign debts of the government until May this year reached 4.6 billion Jordanian Dinars, representing 73.5% of the total GNP.
In press statements he made on Sunday, the Jordanian minister of planning Jawad Hadid said that the total foreign public debts service reached 165.4 million Jordanian Dinars of which 90.9 million as installments and 65.5 million as profits.
Minister Hadid noted discussions and negotiations that are being made with the states Jordan indebted to in order to swap the debts for investments for these countries in Jordan so as Jordan will get a deduction of 50% of the value of the debt and that agreements to this effect were signed with Germany.
The Jordanian minister said that there are negotiations with Jordan on this issue and an agreement with Switzerland, according to which Jordan got a donation at a value of 5 million Swiss Francs to be used in the service of the foreign debts and a loan at a cost of 30 million Francs for a period of 30 years, half of this loan was considered as a donation for Jordan.
