Sudan starts implementation of FAO food security program

Sudan has started the implementation of the special program on food security from the world Food and Agriculture Organization at a sum of USD 282 million. The program falls within the context of the state's strategy to solve the issue of the food gap resulting from drought and desertification.
The national coordinator of the special program of food security at the Sudanese ministry of agriculture and forestry Elamine Hassan Elamine said that the implementation of the program started actually in North Kurdovan province in the shape of typical work activities in irrigation areas, besides 6 villages in al-Qardoud area which represent 20% of the territories of the said province.
